Apologies

Just want to apologise for the lack of blogging been very busy lately so its totally been forgotten.

Anyway if you don't know the Seasiders currently sit second in the league 6 points behind League favourites Farsley AFC but with 3 games in hand, Parkgate are also in the race for the title having played one game more than us and are just one point behind. We play Farsley at their place this Saturday its a massive game we cant really afford to lose, and we also still have to go to Parkgate two very big games that could well decide who this seasons Champions will be, I would love us to retain the title but there is still nothing concrete to whether we would take the promotion this time even though we have applied to go into the Evostik league.

Finally if you are a regular reader of my blog you will know that two of my very good friends Stuart and Graham are both very big Scarborough Athletic fans they gave me a lot of stick that year they stuffed us and although they reminded me when they knocked us out of the Vase this year revenge would taste sweet again especially for me.

Tuesday 8th March 2011
Bridlington Town v Scarborough Athletic

Attendance 537

this was one of the craziest games i have seen in a long time but bye eck it was an amazing result.
The first half both sides created chances we probably had the most but the first half was to end but ended 0-0, I remember Stuart saying one goal will decide this game tonight and i agreed and within a minute of the restart James Bennett had put us a goal up i grabbed Stu and said i hope your right about your prediction he was silenced and within what seemed like a minute and with what looked a lost cause Craig Hogg out jumped former Town keeper Tom Woodhead and headed the ball into the empty net 2-0, Boro did put us under immense pressure but they failed get past the Town defence, James Bennett scored a screamer for his second goal and Town's third, On 86 minutes former Boro player Scott Phillips tapped into an empty net after a terrible defensive mix up 4-0 this was getting better and better, Boro supporters were angry calling for the Managers head and even arguing with each other (dont like to see or hear that really) then you could see the main stand emptying as the game went on and to cap of this historic victory local lad Gareth Owen smashed the ball past Woodhead to make it 5-0 ... sorry Stu and Graham it had to be done.

since this game we drew 1-1 at Lincoln Moorlands, Lost 2-0 at Liversedge in the League cup and beat Hallam 2-0 in the league (this was an awful game but a win is a win)

will hopefully update again over the weekend.

Will leave you with this great tune from Stealers Wheel makes me think of that great night with Graham and Stuart ... enjoy
